Important Message for 6th Grade Families

If you received a pink letter from Dr. Hill in March that was sent via USPS, this applies to you.

Per Georgia law, YOUR STUDENT MAY NOT BEGIN 7th GRADE WITHOUT AN UPDATED 3231, WHICH EXPIRES JULY 1, 2017.

Students without an up-to-date immunizations status will not be permitted to begin 7th grade on July 31, 2017.

25% of 6th grade students have not returned the proper paperwork.

Once complete, please bring a copy of the 3231 to the Dodgen front office before:

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017

Students that are out of compliance on the 1st day of 7th grade will not be eligible to attend & parents will be called to pick up their child from school.

Visit Cobb and Douglass Public Health or contact your private physician to get your student’s 3231form up-to-date. For more information, visit: Cobb and Douglas Public Health or call 770-514-2349.

Thursday, February 16, 2017 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Tickets will be sold before homeroom at school, in the 6th grade pod, Monday, February 13, 2017 through Thursday, February 16, 2017, leading up to the Dance.

No tickets were sold online via Toolkit for this dance. That feature was only for the Fall so all tickets for the Spring Dance will need to be bought in the 6th Grade Pod.

Pizza and water are included in the ticket price.

Students who are staying for the dance will be expected to remain at the dance, until dismissal at 6:00, unless they bring a note and turn it into the front office, on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Students who meet this criteria and are dismissed early, will exit via the bus portal in back of the school and should be picked up in that area.

A map for dance pick-up is posted on the Dodgen website. Traffic will be one-way. Exiting traffic will divide into two lanes; the left lane will be left turn only and the right lane right turn only, onto Bill Murdock road.

Students will not be allowed to walk home from the dance without an adult escort. All walkers will need to wait in the back until traffic is sufficiently clear for pedestrian traffic. This will probably be around 6:20 p.m.

The Awareness Club is helping the Center for Family Resources provide Thanksgiving food baskets to  families in need with our Annual Food Drive.  There is a collection box in each homeroom.  To make sorting easier, we are asking each grade level to collect certain items, but any item on the Thanksgiving food basket list is greatly appreciated.  All grade levels are encouraged to bring in $15 gift cards and roasting pans.   The grade level that collects the most items will earn their own Spirit Day – Hat Day.   Thanks for Giving!
