Magnet Schools Parent Presentation
Parents of rising 9th Graders (Walton Class of 2022) are invited to attend Walton High School’s Rising 9th Grade Parent Information Presentation. Walton Administrators will hold one session for both feeder middle schools in the Walton High School Theater on Monday, October 9th at 6:30 pm.
The presentation will include a general overview of our academic program. Administrators will also preview Walton’s many academic and extra-curricular opportunities, including the Walton STEM Academy and International Spanish Academy.

Panther Partners…An opportunity to help those closest to us!
Hello, my name is Karen Schwartz. As the school social worker for Walton HS, Dodgen MS, East Side, Mt. Bethel and Timber Ridge ES, I am sometimes asked to assist families who are struggling economically. We all learn best when we are healthy, fed, clothed, and have the supplies we need. Despite living in a predominately affluent area, there are those who live one paycheck away from a crisis or who simply struggle to stay on top of basic needs.
Last year, I helped many families in our cluster with some sort of economic assistance. Many times, these needs are under $30 - examples include breakfast money, clothing, new sneakers, backpacks, treats for an elementary student’s birthday, snacks for students, among other items.
While I partner with local churches and non-profits, there are little needs that arise periodically so I have created Panther Partners – a group of individuals who would like to provide assistance for needs in our community. If you would like to be included in this list, please email me at Karen.firstname.lastname@example.org. I will email requests once or twice per month for students in my five schools and will identify in the email the specific school that the request is for because many want to support their particular school. Effective January and for the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year, leggings and yoga pants can no longer be worn with a t-shirt. Leggings can only be worn with a dress, skirt, or blouse that is two inches above the knee. Many reminders, announcements, and class meetings have taken place throughout the year in an attempt to give students the opportunity to correct their attire. Parents we are sharing this information with you now so you can plan accordingly in preparation for your student’s return to school next semester. We will review this policy again with students in January, along with disciplinary consequences for not following this and other dress code expectations.
