Volunteer opportunity to rising 9th grade parents for the Walton Information Center!
The Walton Information Center is a great way to get involved at your student's new school.  We are looking for parent volunteers to assist in our regular Information Center duties, WEB days and Inventory.

For WEB days, you would be involved in checking students in and out of school on WEB days and learn about some of the inner workings of the school. WEB is an excellent opportunity for the students to catch up on their studies and get one-on-one help from their teachers. Walton relies on parent volunteers to make this valuable time possible. Click here to sign up.

For regular Information Center duties, we ask that you plan to work a one to two hour shift, but you may not need to stay that long. You may work any time on your designated day during normal Information Center hours. To sign up please visit the sign up link

For inventory, we use a computer and a hand-held scanner to scan every book on the shelves. To sign up for inventory please visit the sign up link

Want to learn more about the new Information Center? Join us for a Tour & Tea on Thursday, August 3rd, 9:30-10:30am.

Questions? Please contact Archana Patel

Click here to learn more about PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is an assessment given to eighth and ninth graders that is closely aligned to the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10.  It consists of questions in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and in Math.  The benefit of the PSAT 8/9 is that this test establishes a baseline measurement of students’ college and career readiness which makes sense for our 8th grade students.  As they prepare to enter high school, this assessment will give them a better understanding of their academic strengths and areas for growth prior to taking a formal SAT or other standardized assessment.  The PSAT 8/9 also gives students a chance to preview the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 format and connect to AP courses.  Students who take the test in a nonstandard administration using testing accommodations, the PSAT 8/9 cannot be used as a predictive score for how well that student will do on the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT or AP courses.
