2018-2019 PTSA Leadership Drive

Count Me In VolunteerThe Dodgen PTSA is looking for members interested in serving as committee chairs and co-chairs for the 2018-2019 school year.  Responsibilities and time commitments vary widely.  We have roles that can be filled exclusively from home, some that require frequent visits to Dodgen during the school day, and everything in between.

Some of the other roles we are looking to fill for next year are:

  1. Arts in Education (Reflections) Chair -The Chair of this National PTA arts award program will help Dodgen students gain confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. Students submit original works in dance, choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts, during the month of October, which is National Arts and Humanities month. Chair responsibilities include attending informational meetings, promoting and publicizing the program, official kick-off and administering the delivery of student Reflection entries.
  2. Honoring Our Heroes Chair - The Chair is responsible for coordinating this National PTA student-writing program, developed in 1995 by the ECCC (East Cobb County Council of PTAs). The program allows students to discover, honor and write about real life heroes and role models, recognizing someone who has made a profound impact on their life. Chair responsibilities include attending informational meetings, promoting and publicizing the program, official kick-off and administering the delivery of student entries. The program generally runs from October-March.
  3. Education & Literacy Chair - This position has been vacant and is in need of someone eager to enhance educational opportunities available at Dodgen.  This is a priority in the Georgia PTA organization and will be an area of focus in the year ahead.
  4. Website Content Chair - This person will periodically update the PTSA website with content from the e-news or information from event chairs.
If you are interested in serving next year or have questions about responsibilities for a given role, please contact Nominating Committee Chair Joy Ettel or the Dodgen PTSA vice presidents.
